Sins of the Fathers and Curses (SOFC)

The first main area of ministry covers ancestral sins, word curses, and ungodly soul ties. The sins of our ancestors render an individual more vulnerable to the same or related sins. When we fall into sin that is reinforced by our ancestors’ sins, the hold is stronger than if the ancestral influence were not there. Unless the sin is confessed and renounced, its influence remains throughout the subsequent generations (Exodus 20:5, Leviticus 26:40, 41).

Ancestral sin is a major legal tie that must be broken for complete freedom. Note that the Exodus 20:5 reference is repeated in four other places in the Bible. The description “those who hate me” is defined as disobedience and rebellion towards God.  An example of a generational tie is a father who engages in pornography will likely have a son or daughter who struggles with it as well, even if the child does not know of the father’s issue. An example of children’s sins that can be related to their parents’ sins is the case of the parents who are alcoholics and the children struggle with emotional abandonment and rejection.
